Today our Bulgarian shipper informed us that he is suspending any further sales until January 2020. The Bulgarian farmers are holding their raw material. Raw material price went up over USD 400,00 p.mt but farmers not selling and expecting even higher rates.

Last September, we traveled through all main Chinese planting areas for SHINE SKIN and GWS. During our 14 days trip, we met all of our shippers/exporters and some collecting points for raw material.
The Chinese partners warned us about the very tight supply for SHINE SKIN and GWS. After one month in the new season, all negative prospectives become real and our Chinese shippers running out of stock and the European spot market is dried out. The last quotes went up to EURO 3,00 p.kg.

The Chinese shippers are sold out for SHINE SKIN Grade A. In the future they will produce a mix from Grade A (60–70%) and Grade AA (30–40%). This product will cost about USD 3.400,00 p.mt CFR MEP. Currently, we see a few container GWS Grade A available in the market. This product is by far cheaper and can replace the SHINE SKIN Grade A temporary. Therefore we expect a run, and the GWS will be sold out very soon.

The harvest for Chinese pumpkin seed kernels is worse than initially estimated or forecasted! Chinese farmers have small yields per acres and can choose if they want to sell to the exporter or better to the domestic roasting industry.

The harvest for so-called GWS is worse than initially estimated or forecasted! Austrian farmers have almost no raw materials left, and consequently, they are not offering any materials. This morning prices in Austria have increased to EURO 3,85 p.kg.
