market update No. 16-2023 Özgür Tarim offers a new range of chopped dried fruits
Our shipper Özgür Tarim has built a new factory and will be able to supply chopped dried fruits in combination with sultanas/raisins from March 2023. The new assortment consists of 5 x 5 mm to 10 x 10 mm diced dried apricots, figs, and dates.
market update Nr. 15-2023 Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia stop grain imports from Ukraine
In March, several Eastern European states had written to the European Commission stating that imports of Ukrainian grain, oilseeds, eggs, poultry, and sugar had reached unprecedented levels. Therefore, the previously existing tariffs on Ukrainian agricultural imports should be revived. However, the European Union has extended duty-free imports of many farm products until June 2024.
market update no. 13-2023 Turkish Sultanas going firmer
In Turkey, the healthy and not rain-damaged raw material is short. Exporters are asking from today onwards + for USD 50,00 p.MT for Type 8 + 9. For type 10, we do see any upcharge yet, for Thompson's price went up by USD 25,00 p.MT.
market update no. 14-2023 Turkish sultanas + raisins firm up
The day before yesterday, we had a serious frost in the night. The vines are in full bloom, and we estimate a 10 – 30 % damage differs from the region. We see no product on crop 2022 raw material on the free market. Only the cooperative TMO quote and ask for higher prices. We expect further increases very soon and recommend booking now!
market update No. 12-2023 Sadina-BRC Grade AA+
We refer to our email dated 2 February 2023, informing you that our shipper Sadina has been successfully re-certified according to BRC Grade AA+. Specifically, only "5 minor issues" or less were found by the external and BRC-accredited auditor. For a better understanding, we have attached an extract from the current BRC standard, version 8 (see Appendix 1).
